The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and Cooperation between the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA), the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, and the Batam Industrial Development Authority (BIDA) , the Republic of of Indonesia, was signed at Batam, Indonesia, on 8th July 2005.  H.E. Eng. Nader Dahabi, Chief Commissioner of (ASEZA) signed the  (MoU) on behalf of the Jordanian government, meanwhile, his counterpart, H.E. Mr. Mustofa Widjaja, Chairman ad interim, signed the (MoU) on behalf of the Indonesian government.  This signing ceremony of the (MoU) was signed to Acknowledge the role of free and special economic zones in encouraging and accelerating overall economic development of the respective countries.
